Scent descriptions are tricky!

It's difficult to know what a candle will smell like based on a written description. For example, Patchouli Woods is more sweetly perfumed than the woodsy herbal scent I expected. Although some of the scents in this set are surprising, they are all pleasant and I am enjoying the fragrance in my home as I try each one.

Instructions for Use & Scent Information

1. First Burn: Burn your candle for 1-2 hours on the first use to ensure the wax melts all the way to the edge of the jar. This helps prevent "tunneling" and allows for an even burn. 2. Recommended Lighter: To safely light your candle all the way down to the bottom, we recommend using a long-tipped lighter, such as a barbecue-style lighter. 3. Small Flame Fix: If the flame becomes small, extinguish the candle, remove any excess wax, and wait for the wax to harden before relighting. Be careful, as the wax and container will be hot. 4. Safety: Always burn your candle on a flat, stable, heat-resistant surface. Keep it away from flammable objects and never leave it unattended. Ensure the candle is out of reach of pets and children. 5. Burning Time: Do not burn your candle for more than 4 hours at one time to avoid overheating the container. Scent Information: Our essential oil candles are made with 100% plant derived essential oils that we use to make our own original essential oil blends for the scents in the candles. We also have synthetic fragrances in a variety of scents. In general the essential oil candles are a softer, more natural type of scent. Our fragrance oil candles are generally stronger scents and more exotic smelling. If you are sensitive to scents we recommend considering our essential oil candles! Small candles tend to create a smaller wax pool and have a more subtle scent. They are perfect for small spaces or those who prefer a lighter fragrance. Larger candles create a wider wax pool when burning, which allows more fragrance to be released into the air. We recommend larger candles for customers who enjoy stronger, more noticeable scents or are using them in larger spaces and are also looking for the additional value of the added burn time.

About North Candles

Mami and Alex, a couple from Canada and Hokkaido, started North Candles in Tokyo, Japan and now currently reside and make all of our candles in Hokkaido, Japan. They met while volunteering on an organic vegetable farm in BC, Canada in 2016, and after traveling and living in both Japan and Canada, they decided to start their own candle business in 2018. At North Candles, we believe in creating handmade candles that are not only a wonderful scent, but also environmentally friendly and natural. Our candles are made with completely 100% soy wax, all handmade in Hokkaido. Our candles are great for creating a fun & relaxing relaxing ambiance for any occasion.
